Memorandum of Understanding

The BMKG and KNMI Memorandum of Understanding of 1999, the formal basis for the cooperation that the DiDaH project builds upon.

The photograph of the signing ceremony is not retained in the project archive and cannot be republished here. The memorandum itself is catalogued on the documents page.

What the memorandum establishes

The memorandum, signed in 1999, provides the long term framework for cooperation between the Indonesian and Netherlands meteorological services. It allowed later projects, including the Declaration of Intent of 2009 and the DiDaH proposal, to build on an existing relationship rather than start afresh.

Why it matters to the project

Because the two institutes were already working together, DiDaH could move quickly from the ministerial discussion in January 2009 to a signed project in July of the same year. The history of that cooperation is told on the project description page.

The memorandum and the other project documents are collected on the documents page. The partner institutes are listed here: BMKG and KNMI.
